A few of us with off road vans are looking for somewhere to go around
Morgan or about 150km from
Adelaide, we are all self contained except one new comer. He requires a
toilet. we do not want a caravan
park but maybe somewhere on the river. Can anyone suggest a nice spot?
PS. we are all old, around 50ish.(joke)

I don't know about the River, but
GluePot is a great spot - some nice mulga track to get there and some great tracks around there, as
well as a
campsite that recently won an EcoTourism award.

I know of two
places. The first is Cordola Station, about 9 Km south of
Morgan off the
Blanchetown Rd on the WEST (
Adelaide) side of the river. The turnoff is near where the bitumin road turns to dirt. Take the second turn on the right and put $5/ vehicle/night in the honesty box. The tracks will take you to the river or to
the lagoon. Both offer good
camping. There is no firewood, so BYO. There are no dunnies either, so you will need to dig a hole.
The other is Castles Landing, 8-9 km south of
Blanchetown on the
Swan Hill rd on the EAST side of the river. You will see a farmhouse with lots of signs out the front. Pay your money there and pick up a key. The
campsite entrance is across the road. Once again, BYO wood and dunny.
Cheers,
Trev

Hi Chips,
Why did he buy a van without a
toilet then?
Why did he buy an off road van?
How 'bout he parks his van in town and visits you each day, he will soon get the Sh*ts with that and maybe see the light.

Burra Gorge has some nice
camp sites and dunnies but firewood is pretty scarce. Nice walk and about 20k's from
Burra. Bitumen all the way too.
