Darren,

I had a 3L GQ a few years back. What they did was to remove the main tank and put the LPG tank there. They then fitted a 55 litre petrol tank under the driver's seat.

Cheers,

Jim

I have a Patrol GQ Ti 4.2 which I fitted LPG. removed the main Tk and fitted 90lt Usable LPG and 60lt Petrol where the long range tank goes under the RH side.

I get ~ 300km on LPG Sydney driving, better out of town. the only change I would make if doing it again is deciding exactly which tank I would purchase for petrol. as the LPG kit only came with a 60lt petrol tk and with a bit more knowledge and experience I see you can get larger tanks that fit in the same place for pretty much what I paid.

The other bit of research I have come across is that there are now LPG kits that supply the LPG through the Petrol injector port EFI engine (duel petrol/LPG unit) I have not seen it personally but know a vehicle it is on and have been offered an inspection test. It cuts out all any back fire problem with LPG as there is not any flammable vapour in the air intake system only the cylinder.

love the whole set up I have. works well.

My belly tank on the drivers side holds 70 lt. But my lpg tank has 115 lt usable and is good for 425-450kms city or country.Combined range of 700-800kms. I am sure diamond has a 3lt on gas and his used 23lt/100kms on lpg.

Question :
I have a NH Petrol 3000cc Pajero (92 model) that I am considering coverting to dual ULP/LPG if I can do so keeping my original petrol tank and adding under the body a suitable LPG tank , etc.

I heard today that Howard (PM) had announced a subsidy of $2000 to anyone who converts to LPG see au.news.yahoo.com/060803/2/100ce.html , apparently effective from today. Quote " The government will also provide a $2,000 grant to the cost of converting cars to LPG for private use. " , that sounds pretty good .

So my question is can my NH Pajero be converted (I live in Newcastle) and how much would it cost ?
