Hi I am thinking of buying a Nissan Navara STR 4x4 Diesel dual cab, we are planning outback trips towing a Jayco outback camper van and intend to do some off road. Do you have any feedback on these vehicles for the purpose we intend to use it? Hope you can help thanks Rod & Geraldine Shapley

Hi Rod s,
The car itself should not be an issue with your intended use. I have a D22 STR V6 Petrol and a 2.4l petrol D22. And a Patrol 2005 4.2 td. They are all great cars with just a few issues here and thier.
Just do not expect any after market service from Nissan. Some dealers are great but Nissan will not help at all or cover thier warenty obligations.
Mine goes back thursday so I will update after that.19th time.
Do not want to start the toyota /nissan debate again but after many new Nissans over many years I will not buy another Nissan again as long as I live.
Great Cars ,Poor Service.
Regards,

It is strange how we all have different experiences. I have only had to deal with Nissan Customer Service once and they were great. That was over the faulty fifth gear.
The local Nissan dealership where I previously lived were hopeless. They ended up losing the dealership and it has been taken on by another company.
I hope Nissan read your post and they might look at cleaning up their act. After sales service is important.

Hi Kumunara,
Great follow up. Just a bit of consistency would be good. Every one has a complaint about Nissan whether it be Dealer or Mr Nissan him self, but it is all the same "poor Service"!!!! And they read all posts and stop some. While they are sponsors, free speach will not be allowed.
Regards,
Camwill

Hi Rod, i have a 2004 str and it hasn't missed a beat, just got back from the simpson, Mt Dare,
Innamincka and more, always towing the trusty
tambo with me. We used to have a jayco eagle and had no problems with that either.
cheers,
Lance
