Morning all,
I am going to get the Troopy windows re-tinted, can any Adelaide/SA based forumite recommend a good place to do business with.
Looking for quality rather than cost.
Cheers
Michael

I went to get the Ute windows "RE"tinted yrs back, they didnt want to know me. apparently it doubles the cost if you want them to remove the stuff in the first place - depending how hard it is to get off.

Thanks Truckie,
Only have to take off the drivers and pax window tint now.
Easy as to take of and will only need half hour or so.
For anyone interested, borrow mums hairdryer (or use your own..LOL) and the tint will peel off without too many dramas, then clean the goo off with metho.
Cheers

Michael,
I can't recall the Company I had dealings with. I have their business card at home but, rather than wait until tomorrow, give O'Brien Windscreens (Enfield) a ring and ask who they recommend.
Both the Rear window replacement and the application of new tint was done under my Insurance cover, but the Tinter was recommended by O'Brien. I can vouch for a quality job and it's done at your home.
The cost may be more expensive of course, if they need to remove the old tint film, before appying the new.

Thanks Sand Man,
Will see who O'Briens recommend, windows will be squeaky clean when I take it down to the big smoke.
Let me know who did yours, maybe they have a place in town 'cos I can't see 'em travelling to
Jamestown.... tho' would be nice if they did with no travel fee;)
Cheers

Michael,
OK, home now.
The contact I have is Solartint Solutions SA.
It appears to be a mobile service, according to his business card.

Thanks Sand Man,
Have just spoken to Brian, you are correct he is only mobile service but very helpful.
He is even prepared to find a place where he can put the tint on for me, or if I can find another customer or two will actually come to
Jamestown.
Sounds just like good ole fashioned service, hope he is as good at his job;)
Thanks again
Michael

You can buty the tint from Southern Insulation at Sth Rd Edwarstown and do it yourself. Easy for basically flat windows such as the troopy. They have all the gear and will give you all the good tips you need. They are very helpful. Did my caravan more than a year ago and it was a piece of cake - no, it hasn't bubbled and still looks good.
Cheers

Thanks Gerry,
I have done some in the past, wasted heaps and it just did not look as professional as it should have.
Just been quoted $280.oo for the Troopy which is not bad, by the time I bought the gear and fiddled about prob cost about the same...
cheers
