Voyagers and Prodigy
Tekonsha has been in the electric brake business a long time. The Prodigy is
well priced and very advanced for a brake controller. We also now have access to the extra pockets and harnesses so you can use it in more than 1 vehicle.
Prices are set to rise 25% on 1st of September and again in Jan 2007. We don't know the Jan increase yet.

Derek,
your pricing looks ok :)) .. pretty much on par with the US pricing ... that doesn't happen too often :)) ... I was looking at the Prodigy as the best of its kind ... so far I did not have electrical brakes .. so it's something new for me ... I might have to get the wiring harness from the US though ... it's for a US vehicle ..
thanks for answering

Hi gmd
The Prodigy is a simple 4 wire system. No need to order any harness from the US.
Regards Derek.

true, but the harness is cheap and the connections are prewired
so its just a plug instead of splicing into connections. And ordering from the US usually works out quicker and mostly cheaper for me than ordering from
Sydney ..
thanks for the answer though

Derek. Would you have a price on what an extra pocket and harness would cost? I'd like to wire up another car so I can use my Prodigy in either car.
Regards Andrew.
ps: postage to
Melbourne as
well?

You're (not your) so sharp. "Get lost"; how did you ever think up something so witty? Who knows, Billy Connelly may contact you soon to ask you to write his next comedy routine?
You are indeed a miracle of a man. Who knows you may soon work out how to spell, punctuate and use capital letters.
Far be it for a bloke like me, with a "little brain", to ever accede to your greater intelligence, education and immense knowledge.
You are indeed an amazing man. I am in awe of you.

Hey Jimbo, not only is the lad a stuck up stick-in-the-mud, that thinks he's better than everyone 'below' him, but he's rude to boot!!

You're right Pezza,
The lad certainly seems to have an attitude problem. His mother obviously never taught him the importance of manners.
A sad reflection of the younger generation LOL. I'm not too old to teach him some manners.
Cheers,
Jim.

_gmd_pps ,
I have a prodigy and a voyager..........
Just be aware that not all brake controllers are compatible with all breaking systems on vans, campers etc.
My new camper I'm getting has electronic to hydraulic braking system and the prodigy is not compatible with this. Hence I bought a voyager second time around.
Checkout the tekonsha web site for info.
Also the web site of the manufacturer of the braking system.
You can get the auto elect to do all the splicing and fit a 4pin plug on the leads from your in car wiring and then another on the wires from your controller.
Remove it or plug your other controller in at your leisure.................
tuck the plug out of the way when not in use.
But according to what I've read on this and other forums the prodigy is the bees knees at this point in time.............Missile technology so the advertising says.

Garth,
thanks .. very important I guess .. yes my boat trailer will have electric over hydraulic disc brakes .. so thanks for the heads up .. thats why I ask here :)) ...
I will
check the site ... thanks ...
It's not that I can not do the splicing ... I am an electronic engineer .. but the harness is much better because it fits the prewired plugs on the truck .. way
more solid .. most auto electricians use the cheap snap in connectors which cut
into the wire insulation and sometimes/mostly into the core too because they use
the wrong size ... seen too often .. I don't like the snap in's .. not a realiable connection long term .. I prefer real connectors/plugs .. and the harness is actually chaper to buy with connectors both ends than decent plugs purchased at an auto
shop let alone an electrician ...
Missile technology ...
well thats what a trailer becomes when it doesnt work :)) ... lol ...
thanks for you insight

As an electronic engineer, I hope you have the brains to appreciate a bit of decorum in relation to other people and not assume everybody is below your assumed intelligence.
And have a nice day.
