The High Country is a vast area. Some of it can be negotiated in a Falcon, other stuff would test the most modified 4wd with an experienced driver.

It also changes dramatically with the weather. Rain can turn easy tracks impassible in a day.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

When are you planning on going?
Most tracks and areas are currently closed and won't reopen until Melb Cup weekend (Track condition permitting)

Hi there Wazab, we are going in december this year and yes there are plenty of tag along tour mobs to go with. We are using one to tag along with have been out with them before and had a ball. You will have no problems in your vehicle. Most of the vehicles that are going n december are stock standard,eg pajero x2,navara,hilux x2, patrol x2, mazda bravo, suzuki jimny, plus a lifted patrol, we have been out with the same mob before and we all had no problems, the main thing you will need for the high country trip is a water blind to go across the front of your vehicle for when crossing the rivers. Some can have a trickle of water some eg like the murray, can have 3 feet depends alot on wether they have had alot of rain or snow and run offs. Go with an organized tour in your vehicle and you will have a ball. Can tell you the 2 mobs we have been with on a few of our trips if you like or you can do a google search type in 4wd tag along tours and will give you a fair few. Hope this helps Regards Steve M

Way to many vairables to say yes or no.

experience of the driver, weather, track conditions, where exactly you are going, tires etc.

The high country is not really that hard, the annual tour I run for our club takes in most of the 'main' huts, and we had a chick in a Pathfinder that came 2yrs ago without problem. This yr it was dry as a nuns, and you could almost clear most of the place in an old HT Holden, although freezing.

Trucksters High Country Tours. Gee that would be good.

When you drive on the hard bits you have to look out the window to see if one wheel is up and the other wheel is down. Then you get your photo taken.

Do you go up to Mt Skene and take videows of snow driving???
Where do I sign up???

I run a trip usually Nov Long weekend, its not too bad, but one yr it was dry and dusty as hell, rivers were only 6-10inch deep, another yr the rivers were really flowing and over bonnet, which was much deeper than the week before when me and greg did the reccy.

As I say too many variables to make a prediction. Lots of the tracks are pretty much roads, no real challenge, but if you turn here or there it can change in a real hurry.

Will also run one just after track opening this year.
