has anyone tried a conversion kit to gas/diesel from ordinary diesel type motor.
the benifits include better fuel consumption, more power, cleaner running engine
etc. with the rebate of $2000 from the gov. it takes the cost from $3600 to$1600
starting to look better all the time. the link to the web site
www.dieselgas.com.au
have a look at the site, and post back any comments good/bad as i am very interested in this product , even better if you have used it
thanks

Lewjack,

You would not happen to work or be affiliated with these guys? We have had several alerts already to the possibility of this being a free business promotion thread. I know you have used the site for a long time so my assumption is that all is fine however I need to ask so that people stop alerting us to this thread.

David,

Just a thought, but might it be a good idea to have a little counter next to peoples names stating their join date, and number of posts?

I notice a lot of other forums do that, and it not only sorts out the regulars, but it is quick to see if someone joined up just to make a specific sales point....

Cheers,

Chris

Phil,

Did they give you any info on what to expect from the ZD-30. ie what will the new power & torque figures be?

What size tank? Where will they put it?

Thanks,

Aaron.

Phil,

5 weeks sounds great if you happen to live in WA. I booked in the Trol on Friday before the $2000 announcement and i could not get in till mid Jan next year. Since the $2000 announcement, they are booked nearly 1 year away. :-(

Still its worth the wait from what I have read.

Hi Guys,
Is that true about the rebait applying to diesel/gas conversions. If that is the case, I might have to look at it again.

Hi

I booked in to the Sydney representative of Diesel/Gas Australia within a day or two of the Government's announcement. They offered me a one only space in the last week of September 2006. The alternative was many months away. I am only guessing but perhaps it may have been an opening due to a cancellation. The installer is located in Penrith in western Sydney.

Regards
Phil

Keep us posted on the job and the results, and your opinion. I am seriously wanting to consider this, it just sounds fantastic and the fact that it won't upset my standard diesel setup is a big bonus.

I really like the idea but I think I will be waiting a while before even considering fitting gas to the Cruiser. I am sure there are a lot of reliable installers out there but like a lot of these types of gov giveaway offers there may also be some questionable dealers and equipment find their way into the market especially as there is such a big demand and waiting time. As I have a 500,000 km warranty I would like some endorcement from Toyota. Even though gas/diesel has been around for a long time it always seems when something like this is let out to the general public a lot of problems come to light. Some are already being aired on this site particularly with exhaust gas heat problems with turbo engines and this could be worse if the car is towing. The prices of about $3500 being quoted are only a base quote and there are extras on top of this.
