Hi All,
I am driving my boss from
Broken Hill to
Berri next week in the work Crummydore. I don't want to follow the Silver City Highway all the way to
Mildura then head West. From the Natmap Rasters, an option would be to take the Pine
Camp - Springwood Road then pick up the Main
Wentworth Road and come in through the back of
Renmark cutting out over 100km, but adding about 130km of dirt roads. Has anyone travelled these roads and knows what they are like?
Thanks
Pete

Pete, you can get through there with a Dunnydoor OK. If we happen to get 10mm of rain or more, it could make it interesting though. You would still get through OK but it would be very slippery. Not sure of the names of the roads but we usually turn off by Lake Popitah and cut across through from there.

For once I agree with Les Dexic, those roads are fine in a commondore, we went that way a couple of years ago to the Nanya races in a VK loaded to the hilt, no probs.

Ragbutt,
Are you going to Nanya again this year?
we have a club trip up there in October. Should be fun.
By the way, you always agree with me. even when we beat you at bowls. you are such a lamb.

Les, you are dreaming, you have never beaten me at bowls. And no Nanya this year as pennants starts 1st weekend of oct. Are you playing pennants this year or just boosting your ego occassionally beating beginers at night bowls?

Howya goin Rags, No I'm strickly a socialite on the bowling rink. Went down for a Sat arvo bowl and got into strife real quick. Too many rules for me.
We'll have to organise a paddle when it warms up a bit too. Spoke to the new persacuter today and she's into rowing. You might need to edeumacate her into the perils of the backwaters.

It's an excellent road Pete . . . last time I came through was at
Easter. Mostly a good, wide gravel road - highway speed driving for quite a bit of it. Can't imagine they've had enough rain to change that!

Pete if you com ethru from that way you just follow your nose thru till you get to a tee
intersection and turn right, that is where the road is crappiest but still commodorewerthy, in a Falcon youd be right now worries
