I have just returned from a 3500 km trip through the Western NSW Outback, between the vehicle & the camper trailer I had 6 tyres on the road.
Four of them were Firestone RMTs & the other two were Cooper ST Light Truck construction.
I had problems with 2 tyres, one puncture & one total blow out, now for the questions:-
Q1. Which tyre punctured?
A. Firestone RMT
B. Cooper ST
Q2. Which tyre blew out?
A. Firestone RMT
B. Cooper ST

Tough one, you must have had at least 2 spares. But here you didn't mention them so I'll say you had the RMT's on the car and Coopers on the trailer.
I'll also say the Coopers.
Is here a second prize, I'll settle for the playing cards.

Based on my recent experience; over 14,000 KM with over 6,000 km off bitumen. 6 Cooper STs on the road. No punctures or tyre problems. I'd reckon if you had tyre pressure right you should not have had any problems with the Coopers.
But sometimes you can't help bad luck.

OK ...The answer is ...................................
Firestone ...... NIL
Coopers ...... 2
So that now makes a complete set of 4 stuffed Cooper STs.
I had them on the vehicle, stuffed 2, then thought that they may cut it on the Camper Trailer ............ WRONG!
Now, before all you Cooper lovers come out of the woodwork about tyre pressures etc, I ran the tyres from Day 1 exactly as I was advised by Exclusive Tyre Service, the Cooper Tires distributors.
I was pedantic with airing up & down, even for relatively short distances.
In my experience, Coopers are OK, as long as you keep them away from rocky terrain & especially gibber tracks, it absolutely cuts them to pieces.
I have treated the Firestone RMTs exactly the same way, although they have now done two Outback trips on the vehicle, compared to the Cooper STs one, funny thing, no blowouts & no punctures with the Firestones, & they are are around $70.00 per tyre less expensive.
This hasn't been posted to flame Coopers, more to let people know that there is a less expensive alternative that actually works, we don't all have unlimited budgets!

This would be confirmed by comparing the numbers on tyre dumps in
Alice Springs as against what you see on 4WDs about the town.
