Does anyone have any good suggestions for a fridge slide for a 60L compact trailblaza? We want to mount it in the back of the GU wagon and were after any good ideas (commercially available or homemade types). Thanks

Dunno where you are, but got mine at Millicent 4WD Systems in S.A. It was ordered in for me. I would start at your nearest 4X4 retailer, if unsuccessful give Millicent 4X4 a ring and ask Dean who supplies him, I struck him to be great to deal with (ph. 08-87332449)
Regards Nick. ps You would have the best fridge built -miserly on power, rugged marine grade aluminium construction, and 100% cooling / freezing capacity with their well insulated design. When I bought mine (9 yrs ago) I had an old bluedog who use to sit up on it in the back of my ute. I have no affiliation with Trailblaza-just like 4 other blokes I know, very happy with our Trailblazas.

Agree with Old Nick, Millicent supplied one for my 70 litre Autofridge 2 years ago, very sturdy and no rattles, very helpful people and recieved exactly what I requested which was on the Millicent website.
Cannot fully agree with Nick's ps though. A close second to the Auotofridge but definately not better.

Thanks.
We're in northern NSW. We've looked around on the net at various ready made slides (there's a black widow heavy duty slide about the right size), but were wondering how others have got on. Thanks Nick & Greg for your comments.

We've seen some plans on individual websites via the forum, and these people seem very happy with the results.

Any other suggestions welcome!

Hi Brian. I'll try to remember to have a look at your slide next time I see you. I might need to make a slide for George (the Shortie). Had a look at the Hettich web site and I think I have identified the slides you are talking about.

Hi Norm, I got the Hettich Rollers from Mermaid Distributors in Bailey Cres Southport. If I remember, it was $114 for the kit, and rated at 100kg at full 900mm extension.

I am absolutely POSITIVE that you will do a MUCH better job of making them for George tha I did making 'em for Dusty!

LOL....

Cheers

Brian
PS, need pics of George!

Mermaid distributors has gone bust, somewhere here amongst this mess I have the name of a cabinet making mob down there who will supply them, not sure for how much. If your interested let me know, I'll try and find it.
Just don't get them of Nova, they quoted $275, no, that's not a misprint.

I can recommend the Black Widow "After Market" Fridge Slide. They have a Light Duty (100 kg cap.) and a Heavy Duty (200 kg cap.) model available.

I used to use the Lighter Duty model on a 40 litre Engel with the Slide boted to a plywood base board fixed to the existing captive nuts in the back of the Jack and there was no rattling at all.

Black Widow

No association, just a purchaser of their Products.

I had a 60l Trailbaza on the Black Widow for some years.
It was an excellent bullet-proof combination.

The 'standard' Waeco slide has a 50KG rated weight capacity and is readily available for $199. I believe Waeco say this one is suitable for the 35 L to 45 L. The bigger one is rated to 100KG and costs around $420.

Thanks all for your replies.

Ended up opting for a bought one. Contacted various companies in search of rollers to make our own, only to find the prices we were quoted to be so astronomical, it seemed better to just buy one!

After half a day's work, Trailblaza is now happily fixed in the back of the wagon, with a nice partition to keep all the junk away from the fridge.

Thanks again,
Goveroo :)
