Any comments on the capability of the baby Pajero? they seemed to get fair praise when they were a new item.

Thanks heaps Doug, very usefull, and confirmed my suspicions. My 65yo sister does volunteer work from Thargominda to Kowanyama and is trashing her Toyota sedan. The iO (not Io, sorry), certainly looks the part, 'though a Rocky in good shape would be hard to beat.
Appreciate all of you for taking the time.

Hi,

We had an Io for 4 years and couldn't fault it. It was the auto, great around town, and pretty capable off road, look at upgrading the tyres (the HTs weren't worth it), and keep an eye on the cleareance...the only issue where is needed to be snatched was in mud...it made it up the track...but not back after it had been chewed. The reason we no longer have it was the size....bit small for a family of four....oh and it was the wife's car!!

Wen't every where the larger cars went, just need to pick the right line and be aware of its capabiities (like any car).

Cheers,

Michael

There may be a new short wheel base version of the new Pajero due later this year. Don't know if it will be available in Australia though. The current shape SWB never made it here, only a couple of imports around.

Yeh my mistake about spelling iO it most certainly is , well michael42 needs crack over the knuckles too ....lmao, and I agree no soft roader in the iO as the Rocky , Rocky's will do more than most owners ever ask of them , Mine had a Detroit Locker in the rear and was going to do the front but traded it for the Troopcarrier i have today ,that was 6 years ago ,my Troopie now has 622.786 klm up
