Hi all.
As all who have carpet in their caravan will know that it does not matter how careful you are, you will always get grubby spots on the carpet for whatever reason.
Up until now I have been using an excellent product put out by Colgate Parmolive call Karpet.
But as with all good products, it has been discontinued (this is direct from the company) due to falling sales.
My question: What other products are out there that you have used to clean grubby spots on carpets? Or you have mixed up that works equally as good?
No liquid products please as the wet surface takes forever to dry and usually attracts more grime when thought to be dry.
Regards

Hi Janset
You've probably already asked the company this when you rang them?
If not you could get them to ask all their Reps to see if any of their customers may have the product in stock, which is quite possible if it was a slow mover as they say.
Did you also leave your contact details incase they find some stock in the darkest depths of the warehouse that they forgot they had, it does happen.
Sorry I can't be of more help to you.
Cya

Hi Janset,
Try Vax Carpet Cleaner, works brilliantly. Use two caps in an atomiser of
water.
At $10 for a litre of concentrate it's good value too.
You can find anywhere that sells Vax vacuums.

Atomisers don't spray out much liquid, and it may be the best solution.
Personally I leave complicated stuff like that to my expert that sleeps with me in the van.

A mixture of Hydrogen Peroxide and dishwashing liquid works
well on Red Wine stain, if you've got any of those :-))

sorry, another liquid.
I had a boofhead from VIP detail my car and he couldn't get the stain out of the carpet (amongst othert things).
So I went and bought some OzKleen "Carpet Power". The label says "Shock! Carpet Power actually works!" - and it does!
It foams up, but you still need to wet the area a little. Smells nice too.

Amazing isn't it. It actually does work. Stains we have not been able to shift with other liquid and powder cleaners came out zappo!! I am still waiting for a big hole to appear in the floor but it appears I may wait in vain and have to admit here is a product which actually does work.

Janset,
My wife came across a product called EXIT. It is a small bar, weighs 50 gms, (purchased from Howard's Storage at TTP in SA) for about $2.95.
Removes grease, biro, likpstick, boot polish and blood. We removed grease from the roof of the LC and silicon from the carpet. Says to remove as soon as possible after the stain occurs. The silicon stain (compliments of one of the Grand kids), occurred 12 months ago, now removed and these areas are cleaner than the rest of the carpet (carpet about to be shampood).
Details on the item: Made in Australia, McMahon Group, Level 1, 62 Charlotte St,
Brisbane QLD 4000..
Hope you can find it.

Do what we did at home. Rip the carpet out and replace with cork tiles.

Hi guys.
Your replies are most appreciated. I did contact the makers of Karpet, they were the ones that told me they no longer made it and no longer had any stocks anywhere to their knowledge.
I have made note of all item suggested and remedies provided. Thank you. I will chase up any addresses given to see if the products are available in
Perth.
The main concern my wife appears to have is that some carpet cleaners remove the stain, but lighten that area only to get it twice as dirty for some reason or other.
I can only speculate that these cleaning compounds leaves some sort of residue.
Corking tiles are not an option to the wife...sorry.
Regards
