not really a 4wd topic , but a 4w drive was involved. And It might make me feel better lol

Driving my 100 series down Chapel St today , noticed a white VZ fly up my butt. Thought what's this idiot doing. Blue lights go on, ok , it's the fuzz. Jumped out of the 4by and looked at the officer with a strange look, and said whats up dude ?
this is the conversation that followed .

Of/were you talking on your phone sir ?
Me / yes I was why ?
OF / Ill have to book you sir ?
Me/ why ? what did I do wrong ?
Of/ you were talking on your phone , thats iliegal .
Me/ with a strange look. Since when is it iliegal to talk on a phone with a hands free device .

Officer walk to the car and sees my phone in the concole
O/ you dont have a hands free kit in your vehicle sir
Me/ of course I dont , its sitting on my ear you spastic
officer is upset now , I dont know why lol

O/I saw you put your hand up to your ear.
Me/ How am I suppose to answer a call withought hitting the answer button on my ear peice, that sits on my ear.

Mind you , all this time , the blue tooth head set is sitting on my ear.
O/ You sure you didnt put your phone to your ear?
me/ What a stupid question, why would I put my phone to my ear , when I have a blue tooth hand free in it. Now Im looking at him, like his a dill. Mind you my voice is getting louder and louder and latte drinkers whithin ear shot are starting to look over.

Officer walks up to the car , Is this vehicle legal height ?
Ok , now im off my dial

I jump on the phone and ring directories for the Phrahran police stations number.
he asks , why do you want that number . The next few words I will not even attempt to type on here lol .
At the same time Im pointing to witnesees on the side of the road.

Took him 3 sec , flat to take off .

Anyway . I have had my rant and rave for the day .,

bye lol

The police always need to remember; they are here to serve the public: not the other way around. A point which is frequently lost on some of them. Well done.

Sensational Eric.

Should be more of it. The only thing worse than a bully, is a bully in uniform. As we all know, bullies are cowards. Stand up to them and they revert to jelly.

You've brightened my day.

Cheers,

Jim.

I'm still waiting to hear from the Vic plod who pulled me on the Western Highway for doing a speed my truck (1HZ) is not capable of (114 km in 100 zone) and proceeded to write the wrong rego down.

I've told them I'll see them in court and since then I've heard nothing - it's now getting on to 12 months.

It will be an interesting case of my word vs his word - I've got to argue it on principle. At least, I figure, that I can argue if he can get the rego wrong - which is there in black and white in front of him (yep SA plates are b&w), then he could just as readily have got something else wrong.

Couple of months ago the SWMBO broke the law ,64klm per hr in a side street 2 blocks from our home after a 12hr full on stress day in theatre [3 deaths] , the young constable "any reason for your excessive speed ' ,, swmbo "no " ,,constable "in a hurry to get home and cook dinner are we " ,,, swmbo ' no my husband will already have prepared dinner and opened the wine "
constable "you were doing 64 in a 50 zone "
swmbo ., " 50 !! its a 60 zone "
constable ," no mam ,its a 50 zone ,
constable gives ticket to swmbo =$150

next day go we go check speed signage ,yep 50 zone , go and pay ticket at transport department offices ,,,

14 days later get letter from department of transport ,,, letter reads ,,,

"please find attached cheque no ******* for the sum of $150.00 being refund of traffic violation no ******* , future dated ,,, this ticket may be reissued..

Turns out that the young constable put the wrong date on the ticket ,
he was exactly 12mths ahead of himself ,, 2007 instead of 2006.

The very next week the new signs went up - 70kph

Grrrrr!

Eric,

Funny story mate!

Now, without "spoiling your future fun" check the features of your phone out.
With my blue tooth model, used with either the ear piece, or the "Blue Ant" car kit, I can enable auto answer so there is no need to touch anything. And when the caller hangs up, so does your mobile.

More techo stuff too, if you use the "voice tag" feature available with most Nokias, you can activate a call by voice command. This does entail a brief press of the button to activate the voice call feature, but everything else is truly "hands free".

UNTIL THE WIFE TURNS IT ON AND YOU DONT KNOW...
Happened to a bloke at work, and he was in bed at the time.. Not much of an issue, except someone elses wife was in th bed with him...

Word of advice, for anyone is that if any officer behaves inappropriately get his number. It is your legal right to ask for the officers number if you feel badly done by. This quickly turns things around as complaints look bad.
