Have been quoted $1895.00 for a new EU20i. After the current $200 cash back nett is $1695.00. Is that a good price or has anyone heard of better deals lately?

Cheers, Rod.

Rod, does carrying that repeater around affect the ute's handling at all? :-)

Seriously, I'd like to find out the dealer's name, too.

Kev & John:
Have just been and picked up the little critter from Motor Mecca, Toowoomba. Thought I'd better do the business before they changed their mind or were flooded with calls!

John, I was getting a hell of a lot of sway and very light steering with the repeater, so last week I had the rig fitted with OME springs and shocks front and rear as well as steering damper, and it's made all the difference :))

Actually the Ute rides and handles really well on the beefed up suspension (heavier springs = better ride??) and there is is a great improvement when hooked up to our off road van.

Cheers, Rod.

Or you could buy the Kipor 3000ti 2600 Watts 2.6KVa for $1299 and spend the difference on fuel for your rig..! LOL

When we got ours 2 years ago, major dealers had them just a tad below 2 grand, but we had to pay just over; the difference wouldn't have paid the trip to Perth, and we wouldn't risk Courier as we were about to leave. It was still a worthwhile purchase. Go for it at that price - toooo good to pass up.

Rod,

I bought a new Kipor 2000ti about 6 months ago, and it has not missed a beat. Nearly the same specs as the Honda, but with a $1000 price tag. Check out the Kipors before giving away your hard earned cabbage.

Cheers,

Chris

Thanks all for your interest and suggested alternatives. As noted above, we gave one a home a couple of hours after my original post. I'm afraid I'm a "brand" driven buyer, a philosophy that hasn't let me down yet, touch wood :)

Rod, if you have things that are sensitive to the sine wave in the output of the generator, there was a comment on EO a few months back that covered issues like that. One of the members had been watching different brands on an oscilliscope

It is intersting that if you want to run things like caravan aircons, the Honda is the only one recognised. Kipor isn't stable enough in it's current

Yes, John I had read that here as well as on another van owners site. Very reassuring. Primary use will be backup battery charging when clouds prevent the panels from doing their job, secondary will be the occasional air/con duties. Anyway they're such neat, quiet little gadgets and this one fits my Ute mounted toolbox just perfectly!

Cheers, Rod.

The Kipors and Honda's don't they come out of the same factory ........ just one comes out the back door and badged different? Or am I well off track here however If i am correct why would there be a difference in the sine wave or is that why it is cheaper?

They're far from identical - you get what you pay for. The Kipor doesn't have the grunt of the equivalent Honda when starting an air conditioner, for example.
