Not to sure about the Brindabellas, some of the fire trials that were closed are open & vice versa...
Camping I think is only allowed at the Cotter Reserve, I may be wrong & if I am I'm sure I'll be corrected.

Camping at
Wee Jasper (nice), McIntyre's Hut and
Flea Creek.
McIntyre's,
Flea Creek and Mt Coree are a must.
Check out the track files and trip reports at www.lcool.org

One other spot I have seen many
camp at which I believe is actually private property is located upstream of
Flea Creek and is accessible to 2WD vehicles.
Drive straight through Picadilly Circus (if coming from
Canberra) and down into the Brindabella valley. On the valley floor turn left BEFORE the bridge. The track parallels the river and there are some nice shady spots with green grass to pitch a tent.
One spot has a small
swimming hole for the kids and a tiny bit of white
water next to it if you have an inflatable boat or mattress for the kids to ride.
I have had a lunch stop there and saw 2 groups
camping, 1 of which discovered a flat battery in his Commodre so I gave him a jump but I forgot to ask them if they had obtained permission from the landowner.
Cheers....Taz

Camped there last
easter we stayed at the
blue holes camping spot (Not realy a 4wd spot) but great
views & some great walks, caves, etc but be prepared we had one of the coldest nights of the year there. (we drove thru from the
cotter dam & easily made it from Jervis bay to the
camp in a day without rushing)
