G’Day

We are back from a fabulous road trip in Australia. During 5 weeks we covered about 9000km in a 4WD camper. Our route take us from Darwin to Perth via Lietchfield NP, Kakadu NP, Katherine, Nitmiluk NP , Tenant Creek, Devil’s Marbles, Alice, Uluru, Kings Canyon, Mereenie Loop, MacDonnell Ranges, Tyler Pass, Papunya road, Tanami, Halls Creek, Purnululu NP, Gibb River Road, Broome, Eighty Mile Beach, Karijini NP, Coral Bay, Shark Bay NP, Geralton, Cervantes, Nambung NP… I know it is not the shortest road from Darwin to Perth but probably the best to discover Australia. Landscape and wildlife are marvellous, the weather idyllic - no clouds before Cervantes – and Australians are very nice.

My young son -10 years old- said it’s my best holiday. He saw crocodiles jumps in the Adelaïde river, he paddled around freshies in the Katherine river, he swam with turtles in Coral Bay, he fed dolphins in Monkey Mia and watched kangaroos everywhere…

Photography is my first hobby. So I am pleased to share some pictures of our trip. Any comments are welcome.

Regards,
Juan

Hi Juan

I liked your photos and especially the layout of your site.

I am at the present time busy scanning 4000 slide transparencies to digital and it is a slow process. It is going to take months. But I have to do it as some of the transparencies are starting to deteriorate. Maybe one day I will upload them to my website if there is enough bandwirdth...lol

Cheers

Beautiful phots - brings back memories of places I love - hope you come back and see some of the Eastern side of this beautiful country - not as dramatically colourful with the reds but some fantastic places to see.

Juan:
I must commend you for the quality of your photos and the way they are presented. It reminds me of my many trips in this wonderful country. It gives us all a reminder of how great this country is and how we should proitect its pristine beauty for others to share.

I hope that others from overseas see these photos and become inspired to visit us and see for themselves. Hopefully they will use common sense and not go to extremes and put themselves or others in danger, but simply absorb the virtues of our country for what it is - probably the greatest place in the world.

Again, congratulations on your presentation.

WOW. You have captured some great images of Australia. What a fantastic holiday for your family. I had a thorough look at the GRR, Broome and Karijini pics as we are off on Saturday! I am going to show my kids your photos just so they can appreciate where we are heading!

Thanks all. Sure I'll be back one day in Australia. Maybe in summer, maybe in the South/East of your wonderful country. Thanks to preserve wildlife, we no more see such nature in Europe.

Juan
