There is a LPG industry hotline 132846. They will tell you where the nearest authorised installer is. I am booked in for 23 October for my 1984 HJ60 in Frankston Victoria.

Hey Barb, we're thinking about diesel gas conversion too; would be very interested to hear what you think of it after it's done - economy, how it runs, etc. What sort of 4 WD do you have?

Hi rossbarb,
I have been in contact 3 times with Team Green Autogas at Rocklea in
Brisbane who would also be within reach from Maclean.
So far I can't recommend them though as the day the government rebate was announced I phoned them at 9am and they took my details and were going to mail a quote to fit LPG to my 80 series T/D Cruiser as I live in
Bundaberg. I advised them that I was ready to go ahead with the installation ASAP but would like the job quoted first. I phoned again 10 days later and enquired as to where my quote was. I was asked to provide my details again and I tried to be understanding that they had obviously been overwhelmed when the rebate was announced. Another week later I phoned and was asked for my details a 3rd time and have still received nothing, not even a phone call.
I think there are a couple of other installers in
Brisbane too but I am prepared to go to
Sydney now if that is what it takes.
The bit that p*sses me off is that when I first phoned I was told that they were booked out until the 3rd week of September and I could have the LPG fitted in the 4th week. Now I can only guess that the waiting list will be close to another 12 months after that date and that is if they can get parts and tanks.
If you end up going ahead with the installation, let me know how it all goes for you.
Cheers,
Brett
