Evening all

I bit the bullet and got a 40l Engel today. I am not going to use it as a freezer so what is a good setting to keep the beer cold? It's running at setting number 5 at the moment and it's already sitting at -2 in less than a hour so I am pretty impressed so far.

What setting is yours on so the beer does not freeze?

Set it on about 1.3 on the scale of 5 and it will sit on 1-2 degrees C.

Usingit as a fridge, I run
3 - hot day
2 - cool day
1 - cold night
off on a really cold night

Also depends on how much you have in it!

Hi Pezza nearly forgot, I set my Waeco to 3 degres for beer not just a number on the dial, back in the old days when these fridges used old technology using the guess numbers I used setting 1. This should help so as not to make the same mistake again when purchasing a fridge next time !!!!!!! GEEEEEEEEEEEZ

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz the line's running off the spool faster than the speed of light.

Now, you know I have both brands and you know I use the Waeco more, why? cause it works quieter and more efficiently than my old Engel. The telling tale will be IF the waeco will still be running as sweetly in 12 yrs (like the Engel) ?????

Cheers from the one that didn't get away. LOL!!

Yes I have an old engel as well as waeco I think they all do a great job, love the rivalry though this reminds me of my mates around the camp fire telling anyone who will listen about their choice of 4WD or fridge.

Hey Wazza,
Glad you took it in the way it was meant mate, gotta have some fun on here some time, it all gets too serious at times :-)))

Hey Trev,
Now come on mate, tell the truth, you only take the Weaco away with you on bussiness trips because the beer stays at home and lives in the engel and you can't take the chance of it getting warm if the fridge stops working :-)

Nice drop. I got myself in trouble at work the other day! Was sitting around near knock off time chatting to a mate. Said, I was gonna pick up a coupla blondes on the way home and treat em real bad when I got home - was thinking I might even get into one on the way home and do the other in the lounge room in front of the telly. My mate knew exactly what I was talking about, unfortunately the young office girl who was photocopying nearby took quite a bit of exception to what I said. Whoops! ;-) Lucky I didn't say I was gonna have both at the same time! haha!

Cheers
Scoey!

Different temps for different beers eh!

Hmm, I've got a selection in the Engel at the mo, VB, Steinlager, Coopers Sparkling and a few homebrew longnecks.

I like hot blondes though :)

HA HA HA guys, yes a nice drop - especially ice cold... i've been on them since they were an experimantal product before release ( one of the perks of a BIL working for fosters ;-) ) . And they are going to be a "mainstream" beer with large scale production lines etc, just like vb etc. Its All Good :-)))

But Ray's pinged my second love - coopers sparkling Ohhh Baby...............

I set our fridge just over "1" and it is quite cold enough. Anything more and it will tend to ice up the contents after a while.

A very efficient fridge, but we don't keep the drinks in it very often.

On most trips the fridge is for the food and other perishables and the drinks live in an EvaKool Icebox.

Funny how someone mentioned the noise on the Engel.

The misses wont have our Engel in the tent because it keeps her awake when it comes on.

I want it back in the tent because while she's awake she's not bloody snoring.
