With the smell of acrid bushfire smoke thru the house..it must be close on Summer again..
Big bush fire about 15km to the West here. Burnt & smouldering leaves landing in the yard.
100 Firefighters winched in this morning as a RAFT team (Remote Area Firefighting)..
Gonna start aerial incendiary?? backburns this avo--all the smoke will cover
Sydney.
Wiped out about 2000ha so far. Started with lightning strike Thursday.

We're getting a whiff now in the northern suburbs. News said it was in the
Warragamba area.

Fire is still not contained. Apparently they dropped in about 100 fire fighters by air as it is remote.
They are hoping the winds do not pick up.
Picton area has had heavy smoke since Friday. Another major fire is not what Wollondilly Shire needs right now, we lost four homes and numerous sheds etc.. only a couple of weeks ago.

Another fire season approaches . . . or has already started. Right across the country.
For those in the SE of the nation; last time the soil moisture levels were this low, for this long, was in 1982. There was also a very long run of nasty frosts similar to what we're presently enjoying. And what happened? Ash Wednesday.
Of course, nothing may come of it. Here's for hoping . . . . . . .
