I am new to this site so sorry that this reply is overdue. Would just like to thank all those readers that replied to my question on whether to take the grandkids to
Cape York next year. Every reply was positive and said 'go for it'. Thanks also to the readers that gave travelling tips eg keeping the kids occupied and included their own diaries/photos etc. We are inspired by all the replies and the 'trip is on!'

I am going up to
Cairns last week of May 07 (assembling & departing
Cairns May 25th-26th) with a convoy of 5 cars currently. We are mostly in the "baby boomer" age category, presuming that you possibly are also, with grandkids in tow.
If you are travelling alone you may want to look at joining up with us for the trip north from
Cairns?

thank you On Patrol. We would just love to join your convoy. Unfortunately we have to plan around the Qld school hols possibly a week before and after which would start our trip from souther qld around the 16th June. We are 'baby boomers' nearly retired. Thanks again for the offer.

We did this trip in Jul this year - with a range of kids between 3 and 14 - they had an absolute ball. A stay at the Big4 at
Cairns on the way up will be a blast for them - we have a few recommendations (and complete trip report) at Site Link
