Check the Outback overhead console. Beautifully made /fits well/minimal number of holes to drill. Will accommodate a couple of radios plus other bits and pieces plus has reading lamps installed

My TX4400 fits really well in a Dept of the Interior roof console along with the HF unit head. Looks like a factoy fitting and the map lights are great.

Peter

I have a TX3200 in my Holden sedan and a TX4200 in my 100 series. Rememeber the TX3200 is different to the 4000 series in as much as it has its controls 'remote' from the actual radio. I have mounted the unit under my seat in the Holden with the unit in the little space directly in front of the gearshift. I have just looked at the 4x and I reckon you could do the same there. Unit under drivers seat, remote control in the small recess in front of the main stickshift.ou would only need 2 small holes for the bracket if you chose that option (plus the holes under seat for main unit)

having said that I also have the Outback overhead console in the 100series with the TX4200 mounted in it...and the other guys are dead right the map lights, storage area and location of the radio in the console are great.

I guess I would say...if you can afford the overhead console that would be the best option, if not try the under seat option. If you like I can send you a pic of my 4x setup and my Sedan setup?

Kiwi, your thinking of the TX3400 with the remote head, the TX3200 is the small "slimline" base model GME.

Hi,

I have a TX3200 fitted to my 100 Series Std Cruiser. You can buy a facia plate for the TX3200 (about $20) that enables the TX3200 to be installed into a DIN sized socket.

Remove the little tray from under the factory radio and install the TX3200 in there.

Can send you pics of my install if you like.

Regards

Can't you just mount it under the dash using the mounting bracket supplyed ?
The 3200 is quite small so it shouldnt be that bad.
