Hi All,
Im about to take delivery of my Camprite trailer in a couple of weeks.
I was wondering who people in WA use to insure their camper trailers with - and ones to stay away from.
Thanks
regards
Bryan

I use WQBE for everything - may not be the cheapest, but swmbo has had several bingles in her car and have had several
home claims - never been a problem

My Car and Camprite trailer are insured with the RAC , never had a problem. Have made a few claims on both.

Hi Desray,
everything for us is with RAC, but when we enquired about the camper trailer with them they would only do it as a normal box trailer..
what did you need to do/proved, etc to have it insured correectly with them?

Ours is also with RAC, to begin with they didnt want to as they hadnt heard of one??? but after they contacted
Tambo to get their run down, there were no problems with full comp insurance.

Gooday,
Give MHIA Insurance a call 1800-676-800, costs nothing, not sure about Camper trailers but they are great, good cover, good rates, recently had to make a small claim & they were great to deal with, only a phone call & a quote & they authorised the work.
They specialise, full name is Manufactured Homes Insurance Agency.
Have no connection with them, just a happy policy holder, have been with some of the others too. They are on Central Coast of NSW so wath time difference.
Cheers,
Boroma604.

I have comprehensive for the 4wd and CT through the RAA. Very happy, had agreed value on everything. Haven't made any claims yet but I'm sure they'll be fine.

Hi Brian,
I'll chase up RAC again, when I first spoke with them the girl at the call centre obviously didnt understand about camper trailers as she kept going on about how it would only be treated as a normal box trailer... everything else is with RAC so it would make thngs much easier to keep it all together.

Bryan..

also check the fine print, e.g. I'm with NRMA and they don't like the CT being in NT for more than 14(?) days

Bryan,
What model did you get?
I received my TL8s about 1 month ago, am absolutly rapt in it. We have got setup/pull down time to about 20 mins and still improving.
Mine is insured for $32k through TCIS same as the Patrol so that it is insured off road as
well and it costs about $400 pa.

HI,
We got the TL8 - and having been at their workshops last week to drop of the stereo they are installing for us, I have the
camping bug again and cant wait to get it.
sorry for the ignorant question, but who is TCIS? I cant work out what insurance company they are to ring them :-(
Im guessing the setup/pull down time includes the annex section as
well?
Regards
Bryan..

Bryan,
TCIS are an insurance broker, do a TCIS search on your web browser. You need to be a member of a registered 4WD club before they will talk to you though.
Setup/Pull down times are without the awning, but it is a solo effort (wife is very short) and it is at a leisurly pace. The first time I did it it took me nearly 1 hour but we are improving on it. I have seen their DVD that shows it can be done in a couple of minuites and I believe that is possable, just more practice needed.................oh
well, better get out there
camping and have some more practice.........bugger!
