Jack
Good morning all,
I am trying to put a Donaldson Pre-Cleaner on top of a Safari
snorkel, but can’t get one to fit. The
snorkel on the 100 Series has an outside diameter of just over 3 ¼ “ – but the Donaldson units come in either 3” or 3 ½ “ – can any one shed any light on this ?
Thanks

l have a 80 series and had the same problem in the end l bought the 3.1/2" and got a PVC fitting from bunnings so it would go inside the pre cleaner and over the
snorkel all held on by hose clamps if you would like a photo let me know

Just get a bit of 3" plastic pipe, cut a length the same as the bit required for the precleaner, slit it down one side and slide it over the
snorkel, then slide the precleaner over the lot and tighten the clamp. The slit piece should just about fill
the gap between 3 1/4 and 3 1/2".

Hi Jack ,
I use a Donaldson pre cleaner on my Safari / 100 TD . I just get a roll of wide tape and build the
snorkel pipe up to the correct OD . I could build it up permanently by some other method , but I only use the Donaldson in the deserts so I travel there with the std Safari ram set-up and change when I am about to set off on my adventure . When I'm finished and ready to go home , I just cut the tape off .
I do not like to use the Donaldson for highway travel on my way to WA from
Sydney etc because they restrict the airflow at higher speeds . They are designed for 80 KPH and under I believe .
Cheers ,
Willie .
