I hope one or more of you can help me with my ES 1994 (late – the one with one fan belt/) 3., Discovery.
I refuse to go to the Stealerships (dealerships) because of their highway robbery costs and their general inability to fix the problem in one go. My nearest dealer is 60k away and it really in inconvenient to drive there and wait for the problem to be fixed. I have managed to do most of the work myself with the help of a friend in some cases, but now have the following problems for which I hope someone has already worked out the solutions.
My cruise control has packed it in and I’m advised that the vacuum pump, located near the battery, is the problem. A new vacuum pump costs $565. This seems ridiculous and I am hoping that it can be repaired. What I want to know is how to repair it or where I can have it repaired in Australia, preferably north of
Brisbane in QLD.
Also my master cylinder (brakes) is weeping and I have traced the problem to the two mounting rubbers. The dealership won’t sell the rubbers separately and I would have to purchase the kit for $200. Seems silly to me when the rubbers are there rattling around in the kit box. My question is, where can I purchase new mounting rubbers, as that is all I need?
My sunroofs are not working. Has anyone got any idea what may be wrong, as I believe this is quite common? The motor works and the roof moves to the up position but will not go further. I have cleaned and greased the tracks regularly.
Many thanks, Cire

speak with Trevor at Landrover Spares in Mackay, my partner did his apprenticeship under him and there not much he doesn't know about Landys. Once you speak with him you'll understand.

www.britishoffroad.com. Phone 5445 1094. They are at forest glen. I would not own one of these things if I had to rely on their dealership.

Cire.
Yep all of the above, or try Graham Coopers in St Peters in
Sydney "The Land Rover Expert" genuine parts but cheaper, or Land Vehicle Spares in Silverdale NSW will post parts anywhere. (I blew a radiator in
Brewarrina NSW "94 Disco" & they delivered within 4 days) saved my butt! : )>
