Evening all,
Anyone know of an out of the way spot for an overnighter as we are heading to Melb for Xmas.

Preferably a State forest or N.P.

Cheers

About an hour west of Albury is Forges Bend.

I have stayed in the Warby Ranges near wang - its a bit further down the line.
Camp ground is average.

Wadbilliga National Park

Its been a few years since we camped there but we used it as a stop over on the way to Melbourne from Sydney. Check out the NPWS link, it should give you enough info.

Burralow Creek, near Bilpin, or wheeny Creek near Kurrajong about 1hr from Blacktown.

Balangalo state forest 1.5hrs south of Sydney off the Hume Hwy

Penrose State forest 1.45hrs south next forest after Balanglo on the left.

All these places are free, and some have fac.ilities
