That's a very scenic track....bitumen for about one third of the distance. Camping can be had at The Big Hole. That site is closer to Braidwood and the turn-off is still on the bitumen. The campground is only about a kilometer off the road. If you have time I'd suggest you walk in to see the Big Hole. It is about 30 minutes walk (from memory) and you have to cross the Shoalhaven river on walking stones, fairly close to the campground. The hole is a giant sink hole. If you're really energetic, there is a further walk you can do to some caves, but I've never been past the Big Hole myself.

Further down the track towards Cooma/Nelligan, you could turn off to the east and go into the Deua NP. Most people go to that park from tracks on the eastern side around Moruya, but the track from the west is quite challenging. Having said that, I did take the Ultimate camper down into there behind the Patrol, back around 2001. There is one hairpin that you have to do a 3 point turn on (interesting with a trailer on).

Still further down there is the Tuross Falls area......very pretty.

Good luck

Hi Brian

The Big Hole, Berlang Camping area, Hanging rock, Wyanbene Caves camping area, then Mining Range FT, Dampier Mountain FT to Bendethra Caves, camping area. One spot on the Tuross Falls rd, Cascade camping area near Countegany and two in Wadbilliga NP. These are all NP camps.

Enjoy the drive, I do when i get down that way

Andy
