I have an old dual mode Satellite/GSM and a mate of mine has a Satellite/CDMA. Does anyone know the future of this - I expect the Satellite will continue to work and the CDMA will stop when Telstra turn CDMA off in early 2008. I understand that Telstra dont have a timeframe on turning off GSM
Does anyone know if there is a dual mode Satellite/NextG phone on the drawing board? I would expect with the NextG offered only by Telstra that Globalstar will not have access to the new network

No dual mode Satellite/NextG phone on the drawing board at present, but it will probably be introduced at some later date when the NextG product line has been absorbed into the market.

To the best of my knowledge, there is no "current suggestion" that the GSM network will not continue to be supported, but read into that what you will.

In the meantime, the Satellite /GSM dual mode system should be good for a few years yet and an upgrade available should GSM be withdrawn in favour of NextG, or some other alternative, sometime in the future.
