Evening all,
Hope all are
well and fully recovered from the excesses of the Xmas - New Year break. I had a day off work yesterday so arranged for my local exhaust
shop - The Muffler Man - in
Tamworth and the best diesel
shop - DieselCare - to do the 3" dump and exhaust thing to my 4.2TDi Nissan. OMG why don't the manufacturers do this for us in the factory - an extra 20 hp at the wheels. The local
test of "How does she go" is driving up the
Moonbi Range about 20 k's towards Armidale. My work vehicle is a n/a 4.2 L/cruiser and it struggles to get up the
hill in 3rd. My Nissan went up happy as a p.g in p..h today in 4th. Love it even more now. Also finished fitting my FIAMM air horns that were first fitted to a car in 1971 - had them on my Mazda RX2
sedan way back then - wish the Nissan had the same get up and go that that thing had. Makes me feel old just thinking about 1971.

John to
John, it does a great job. Did you see the crappy little dump pipe. 1.7" I measured it, and
mine did a 16% better 0-100kph time with the new pipes. I have to agree that the manufactureres could get their act better together. You didn't
test the emisssions before and after did you? No, I wouldn't either.........

G'day
John - no mate I did not bother getting the emission levels printout. The guys at DieselCare had shown me the factory dump - no wonder the poor b....y thing could not breathe.
Cheers

Evening
John
The bill for the pipe, the dump, fitting and then the tune/dyno work was about $1200. Bill from the muffler
shop reckons the fuel consumption should be better too. Saves my old legs changing gears so much LOL
