I want to transport a 20 ft+ caravan from the Gold Coast to Perth. Any ideas on who could do this and the costs. The van is not licensed so it needs to be carried by a semi trailer of some description. This is a specialised built food and beverage dispensing van that I cant buy here. Thanks in advance.

You could probably get a temporary permit to tow it across the country or pay someone else to do it who is travelling that way.
Maybe some of the boat transport people may be able to arrange something as well.

Corden Transport have proven competitive for Perth/Brisbane/Perth transport. I have used them for car, camper trailer and household goods and rates were very reasonable. They have depots in both cities.

I have just been through the same for moving a 5m boat from Sydney to Perth.

Quote from transport companies was $5000

The NSW rego had expired so permit required from each state, with dates of travel and route required if towed. NSW was the most complex, with requirement for road worthy and NSW licence to get permit. WA permit was issued over the phone. SA said if I had WA permit it would cover me in SA, but WA permit only good for 2 days.

All got a bit too hard so I risked it and towed it with out permits in NSW and SA. Was breathalysed in SA but no check on boat trailer. Total cost or return trip to Sydney was about $1800 for fuel and accommodation, and I will reduce FBT on the vehicle as I was running well under nominated km for lease.
