How long have they been useing Ch 29 as the main Truckers Channel in NSW. Wondering why there was no transmissions on Ch 40 all the way down the coast from QLD to Sydney untill I jagged 29 ?

Poor buggers are probably trying to elude the disgusting ferals that plague so much of the UHF domain - they take over a channel and render it useless - it has been ultra bad in Adelaide on 40 - probably much worse in the larger populated centres. When those mongrels get to the pearly gates, they'll be horrified to see St Peter monitoring his UHF !

Yes - that is one thing not to do ... leave the UHF turned on (even though accidentally) to wake up the neighbours with some twit's drivel at 2AM in the morning ...

Solution is to put it on monitor and play the radio at them for a while.

Bigger the town, the bigger the drivel in my experience.

as soon as you come into suburbia in the early morning, you hear truckers complaining about " bleep you can tell your in town again"

Dont even turn myn on any more around town couldnt be bothered with all the dead sh@ts that as mentioned dripple crap for hours, obviously dont have jobs or a life. Only turn myn on when on the open roads or well out of suburbia or unless I'm stuck in the traffic and there is possible accident just to see what the hold up is. My wife detests it on around town she cant stand the filth that come out of some people's mouths. Regards Steve M

Hey truckster, school holidays are the worst here! Kids with hand-helds. Only in town though thankfully. Keep it real (NSW)

Having endured the 27meg chaos, I resisted putting a UHF in the vehicle for years.
The current one probably gets turned on once every couple of months unless I'm on the road and well away from cities.
I recently used it when caught in a traffic snarl due to a bike fatality. It was so bad I turned it off in about 30 seconds.

I have gone back to 27meg in suburbia. Only issue with it is the 'ionisphere skipping' in early afternoon.

I still run the UHF for Simpson, outback SA.

The bogan mongrels have made UHF virtually unusable for the average family, with their unnecessary foul language, I fail to understand why they find the need to punctuate every sentence with Fs & Cs etc etc.
I will swear along with the best, but ...... there is a time & a place, on air is't it!

Shane
Truckies use 29 on the Pacific and 40 on the New England because in some areas they can recieve both and the message get a bit confusing.

I tried a couple of times to tell the Big-uns that there was something up the road that was about to have a look at them, but got no response. I asked for a radio check & got nothing, & thought my radio was on the blink.

Is it just me or has the truckies whining and belly-aching got to the intolerable level these days. I used to drive trucks in the 80's and I'm certain this wingeing wasn't anywhere near as prevelant. Work or humour was the rule on the two-way. Nowdays it's just repetition of every boss is an idiot, every other truckie is a fool, every truck apart from the one he's driving is crud.......No-one is funny anymore.

Seemed to be a hell of lot more wit and humour around then. Channel 40 used to give me some great belly laughs....maybe it's just me.

As for the other channels.....sad, sad, sad nob ends mostly. Complete tools.

I tune in to the cops nowdays when driving in the city. That's a laugh and a half let me give you the tip.

Hey V8, have to agree with you on this one. I own a small fleet of semi trailers and cut my teeth in them also. Don,t drive as often nowadays, but when i do am amused by the differences. Everyone only looks out for themselves today, and it's a sad world on the road now. Drivers (not in general), tend to think everything is owed to them. Sure i know that things are over-regulated etc etc, but were all here together. We only get one go at it each. Maybe things may turn around for the better. Who knows! Regards and keep it real (NSW)

similar situation as V8deisel,spent most of the ninety's doing interstate, and cant the dribble thats on UHF now especially around Brisbane with people seemingly going out of their way to antagonise other UHF user's by constantly meowing(like a cat) or moo-ing barr-ing .IMHO truckies using 29 down the coast(NSW) are probably trying to avoid the cr*p on 40

Kinda to be expected in Sydney on Channel 1. I swear that someone has Triple M's "Best Ever Beer Drinking Songs" CD on repeat. It's like Bogan Radio 476.425. Though i did find "the whisperer" from a few months back fairly entertaining.
