Friends of
mine are caretaking Kingfisher
Camp in Far North Queensland.....
They are also keeping an up to date website as a day to day diary of weather change, flooding, conditions, stuff they are doing up there....
I thought it may help in some way help people keep in touch with what going on as they get ready to leave for their trips this year...
Anyway here is their website...
If David doesnt like it i am sure he will blow this post away...
I am not normally one to post other websites on here because it can cause friction but i think this one can be an aid..

What a great spot.
We stopped for an 'overnighter' on the way from
Lawn Hill to Hell's
Gate in August (before your friends arrived). Our overnighter turned into 4 days as we loved it. Fantastic birdwatching, shady grassed campsites and very cheap to hire a tinny for some fishing as
well (kids caught some catfish and were very happy).
We bought a copy of Kerry McInness' book 'Pieces of Blue' while we were there (her family now owns the station). A fascinating and often hilarious read about being raised in the bush by her father after her mother died giving birth to child number 5. One of those books that puts your own life in perspective if you ever feel that you have got it tough.
KFC is
well worth the stop if you are travelling through, but allow a few days there.
Matt.

We did something similar about 5 years ago and later we bought her second book, Heart Country and we were fortunate to meet Kerry at the
homestead. Another good read.
I recently finished her third book, a novel called The Waddi Tree. I couldn't put it down.
One place I'd love to return to and maybe be the resident caretakers for a season.

Thanks Voxson,
Found a listing and plotted the position. Too difficult for our rig but what an experience your friends are having and thanks to them for sharing it with us
