Actual experience, rather than conjecture or debates about the merits of vehicles, please!
Would an X-Trail (or possibly a Santa Fe) be able to get to Bendethra Valley?
I've done it in a Patrol easily, but would love to hear of people who have *actually done it* and succeeded (or failed!)
Stock vehicle with Auto transmission.
Many thanks in advance for your help.
Tim

Yes mate - we had an XTrail with us last year - went in via Moruya though - I wouldn't take it via Merricumbene (Araluen), and have heard that
Dampier Trig/Snowball is almost highway status now and that it would have no problem.
But via Moruya, yes, and first hand
Cheers

timglobal,
Via Merricumbene would be a big NO, via
Dampier fire trail should be no problem. Was there end of November and
Dampier Fire trail is now a highway....
One thing to note, be very cautious if it is wet as the vehicles you mention would possibly have difficult if they have had recent rain.....We have had some rain over the past few days.......If wet I would avoid it....

Thanks to both of you for posting.
We'll be in a group with Patrols and Jeeps, so there is a train of thought that we'll drag it up anything it baulks at and the ABS and two-foot braking will get it down the
hill.
Alternatively, anyone know somewhere that hires 4x4s with availability for next weekend?!
