We've had some serious rain in SA lately and parts of my town flooded last night. Unable to judge depth many family cars tries to drive through and their engines conked out. Interiors were taking on a lot of water.

It was a good sight to see several 4wders towing people out of the flood waters and to dry land. I personally towed half dozen cars out and gave a few lifts home.

No 4wd bashing goes on in this town.

Whereabouts are you Barnesy?

I am in the mid north, Jamestown, and we have had some serious rain but no flooding to date.

Country townsfolk tend to help each other out without the need to criticise anyone or anything.

Just had a look at the Satellite picture and seems we might get some more....

Cheers

I'm in Whyalla Michael. everyone says 1986 was the last time the streets were flooded like they were last night. I would have thought Jamestown was at risk of flooding because of the creek going straight through the middle of the town.

My missus can't get home because the Whyalla/pt augusta road is closed. She told me Hawker had 7 inches and the dam is close to bursting.

By the way the new assistant nursing manager in Jamestown hospital a bloke by the name of Daryl Stephens is from Whyalla and he's a good bloke. You or your family may come into contact with him at some stage.

You have some White Lightning?...........That'll do, forget the food.

Probably get away here by Wednesday if the roads open soon. Think there is some serious road damage on the way to Hawker. Clear skies this evening so rain may be over for the time being.

Hi Barnesy.
Just watched the floods on Channel 10 news.
Good luck. Even the heavy transport are having trouble.
Regards.

Any more rain and ide say 4bys will need snorkels on their snorkels. Seems the phrase 'everything in moderation' rings true here. I admit not knowing much about the drought affect areas, so i hope this rain finds them and helps.
