This is the shortes route, you can adjust for the quickest but if you are driving a 4by that isn't always the best way to go.

cj, if you do go to
Robe via the
Glenelg Hwy. there could be a couple of interesting water falls just off the Hwy near
Hamilton following this rain which was particularly heavy in that area.
From memory they are between
Dunkeld and
Hamilton with one off to the right and the other to the left, but only say 5 mins off the highway. Could be spectacular.
Cheers...GU

I think you'll find they're the
Coleraine side of
Hamilton.
The Wannon Falls, which is only a few hundred metres off the highway, and I forget the name of the other falls. Same stretch of creek, other side of the highway.

Of course GU you are counting on run-off from the rain? There hasn't been any here, closer to the coast. It's been soaking in :-))))

The other one is called Nigretta falls, Wannon is on the
Glenelg Hwy, Nigretta is off to the right about 5 or so k's out of
Hamilton, and there is a back road across from Nigretta to Wannon. They could be ok after this rain, I have abseiled over the rocks at the side of both of these falls.

Are you guys sure??
Des and I were discussing this the other night and we worked out when you leave
Melbourne, go up to
Bendigo then Wedderburn,
Mildura, Swanhill,
Canberra, Shepparton,
Mansfield,
Lakes Entrance etc and this is the best way. Or maybe that was only for Victorians coming to S.A. LOL

Yes Blaze you have cl;everly locked onto a Victorian ploy, you see we don't really want to go there so we take the scenic route designed never to get there, although we have still had a holiday. On the other hand when given the opportunity to assist a fellow Australian and compadre we give them the direct route.
hat we havent yet exposed is the route that we tell Croweaters, it gets them out of Vic in under an hour hahahahaha

Much of a muchness (where did that saying come from?) whether you go via
Ballarat or Geelong (if coming via Melb CBD). In both cases I by-pass the cities, but I'm afraid I can't give you directions. I just follow my nose!
