everyone know without juice in the batteries all those thousands of $$ of accesories become paper weights.....
well i have managed to flatten
mine a couple of times, so i have fitted new larger batteries to my existing dual battery set up (redarc) and am chasing a dual battery monitor....not the led type, but constant digital readout, and on that can be mounted inside the truck.....anyone know of any good ones......preferably ones of the net???
Thanks for ya help!

Jaycar have an on-line store and sell meters...perhaps just a simple change-over switch to monitor two batteries?

I just use a standard 2" battery condition gauge. have batterys wired thru a push button. The standard readout is through the ignition of the main battery, and by pressing the button it give indication of auxilliary battery.
Nothing fancy but it works.

Wayne-o,
I "killed" two auxiliary batteries by flattening them too deep and too often.
Now I use a low voltage cutout device that will stop you flattening the battery too much. You don't need an expensive one either. The Projecta brand low voltage cutout costs under $40 from Repco, Kmart, etc. and has a plug and socket on the end of short leads. You can use as is, or replace the plug and socket with better quality ones, for a more positive connection. The "Merit" brand inline socket and "Hella" brand plug are good choices. The Hella plug will fit in any cigarette style socket, or the Merit socket by removal of the little (red) collar.
The "best" fridge is sometimes too good, as it will run at a voltage lower than the battery can sustain and does not have it's own built-in cutout device.
[Come in you Waeco owners:-))]

Hi Wayne,
You and I are in the market for a similar item. I was looking at the LED ones offered by opposite lock. Have you had bad experiences with LED monitors ?
Cheers ... Taz
