Having traversed most of the trails between
Wee Jasper-Tumut-
Canberra, I have yet to
check out
Limestone Creek Road, which runs off Nottingham Road, some distance past
Wee Jasper Station. Can anyone advise if
Limestone Creek Road is a through road or dead end, and what is down there, i.e: public access creeks, walking trails, etc. I am of the belief there is a
homestead and private property down that way, and the road is almost impossible to get out of if there has been recent rain. Can anyone advise on these queries, and also the GPS or map coordinates of the
intersection turn off, as I could not find it last year as someone had removed the road sign.
Further, can anyone advise why the gates are locked on Brindabella Road, as it is a gazetted public access route. Who do we approach if we would like to do the run south through this area.

I'll answer the last one first. If you are refering to the road on the west (Tumut ) side of the river, its private and has been closed for around 12 years as a through road. The main reason it was closed, was the the local shire would not maintain it because it was not a gazetted road. The same goes for the
Canberra side.
The
Limestone Cr Road in through private property, but does have a
river crossing on it that is to the north of
Mcintyres Hut. Very difficult to get a vehicle through, it was belly deep on my horse when I went through it last, and very steep banks.
