Hi all,
I am considering if it is a waste of money to get a front end wheel alignment for my 75 series cruiser ute.
It feels like it probably needs one but is it worth it for 4WDs considering the fact they sometimes go offroad etc?

Ummm ,, yes ,, unless you have the money to keep replacing tyres as they will scrub out way befor the normal wear time ,, as
well as the extra wear and tear on the front end from the tyres trying to pull the car against the way it should be going ,, I do the paj every time new tyres go on ,, and any stage it feels like it needs it through the tyre life ..
Neil ..

X2 What Neil said. Don't forget to rotate the tyres from front to back occasionally either.

In this day and age there is no point telling smokers what to do, the info is there and they know they will die early because of it, what shocks me more is that you went into a shopping centre! Man I hate those
places, waiting in lines makes me feel....angry....i think. As for the food court i dont eat there, when out I eat apple cakes, vanilla slices and big m's in the car. Since I have been married I have not once gone food shopping, or clothes shopping (except shoes) or cooked a meal. I feel fortunate and relieved not to have to visit
places like that.

With a beam axle front end you can usually only adjust the toe in of the wheels. You could do that yourself with a bit of string. However if you do take it to the professionals they will be able to tell you if anything is bent, crooked or out of place and they should
check over the rest of the
suspension as
well.

By professionals I meant a place that does
suspension work, not a tyre
shop.

I wouldn`t was my time(or money) with a normal tyre place alignement, you need to go to a place like fortuna in
brisbane where they shim for camber and the like.

As stu k has said dont take to your normal tyre place. I take myn to a truck place and have had a good run so far. I had myn checked about 5 k ago as I thought it was out but turned out to be only 1 mil out. Thats not bad since I hadnt done one for the last 80 thou. Didnt even have one done when I put the bf's on as there was no abnormal wear on the old tyres. But the answer to your question direct is yes as far as I'm concerned $55 for my lux Steve M
