The information given for the
Birdsville Track states that the best time to visit is from May - September. Why is this?

most moderate temperature,kindest to vehicles and people ,most popular time for general inland travel.Less flies and heat.

Agree. Wouldn't like to be there in Summer. Should rename it
Birdsville Highway.....it's hardly a track, although I guess it'd get a bit rough with rain around. You can easily drive it in a day if you don't want to stop much along the way - we did, anyhow.
