Hi David &co, is it me or is it taking a lot longer to crank up the ExplorOz site ? it was never the fastest but lately it's taking forever to open a thread, could it be all the ads etc that come with the threads ? I notice theres been a few changes on the site lately just wondering if it's that ?,
thought you should know,
regards,
Dave

Dave,
May be time to have a chat with your ISP - the site is sub second on every request and has ben this way for several months after I spent a significant sum of cash for new updated dedicated server boxes. Additionally the site is now running on a shared 1GB link so there should be no issues when viewed with a quality ISP.
What ISP are you using?
Anyone else having this problem?

I am finding the same thing too, Dave. I am using a tadaust broadband connection, and there has been a definite slowdown over at least the past week. Other sites I use (including banking etc..) seem to be about the same, but Exploroz is noticeably slower.
I was going to wait a few days to see if it was anything else and email you direct, but as this thread came up I decided to do it from here.
Cheers
Jack

Unfortunately out here in the sticks I am still on dialup with Bigpond and yes the site does take a while to load, but not then so do a lot of other websites.
Eventually if I click on stop or refresh it loads okay.
So not sure what the problem is I suspect too much traffic on a small phoneline?
cheers
