Think you'll find that the company listed in the Fair Trading report (Goldstream Caravans) is a totally different company, always based in Sydney, whereas Goldstream RV are Victorian based and I thought had been around for a fairly long time.

I don't have any ties to any of them, but had read about Gazal and his "business practices" in the paper over the past couple of years. He used to make Viscount 'vans as well (+Gazal and others). Would definitely keep away from him.

I suspect that he just picked up the "Viscount" name long after the original company shut down (for what ever reason).

Early Viscount caravans, Pre mid 80's Grand Tourers and similar were and still are solid well constructed units, but things went down hill with the introduction of the infamous Aerolite series.

I actually was following an Aerolite when a Road train without a cabtop wind deflector passed us going in the opposite direction (All vehicles were at or about 100kph). The Aerolite literally sucked in the walls and then exploded all over the road. What a mess but I managed not to run over anything.

Put me off liteweight vans for ever.

I believe any connection between Gazal and Goldstream has been severed and Goldstream is now back under the control of the original owners or management.

But I stand to be corrected.

I certainly hope for the sake of the consumers that you are correct and if ADP2006 is correct then I would apologise to Goldstream RV.

G'Day All,

Think you will find Goldstream RV in Melbourne has nothing to do with Gazal

Goldstream RV
