I saw a LC100 yesterday near Montrose with a front spoiler under the factory bumper. It looked absoloutely horrible. Why would someone do this to a new car?
It looked like those plastic ones they used to sell back in the 80's that people would pop rivet onto the front of thier cars.

I would be ashamed to drive that car, especially in that area where 4x4's are the majority

I've seen one with lowered suspension (yes, lowered!) and what looked like massive 19in rims! It was black of course, half expected to see some gangsters leap out with guns blazing.

Is that the "4x4" kicking around Karratha WA? If not there is another plonker with one like that up here. Obviously don't take it off road or drive when it rains.

But why wouldnt you??? If thats your thing, then so be it. Each to their own, and if you dont like it (not having a personal dig donks) then theres no need to look at it/ make the same modifications etc etc.

Seen one around northern Sydney too, white one, low profile tyres on huge rims, lowered, with flares but no spoiler ;-))
There is also aSurf getting around the CBD/eastern suburbs, lowered, with very low profile tyres, looks really stoopid.
There are also lots of new 4wd hiluxes and rodeo utes with low profile tyres used by tradesman types that will never see any dirt either.

low profile tyres & utes may look good but I don't think they are really safe when loaded up.

Traveller,
The one I saw looked like it had a home made spoiler on it. It was absoloutely disgusting. It looked like something out of the Moomba Birdman rally!

I have a "spoiler" on the front of HZJ105. (I guess you could call it that)

It provides a place for my winch, spotlights and Codan 9350 to bolt on to.

Maybe just Maybe these guys with the lowered LC100's, Surf's, Rangie Sports ect think our raised 4x4's look stupid???? I know if I needed 7 seats to cart a big family around I'd go for a FULLY SICK lowered LC100 before I put my bum in a Kia Carnival or Tarago ect.......My point being we are all diferent and buy cars for different reasons, if others reasons are different from yours that does not make them stupid just different.

Stefan,
You misunderstood my point.
Would you, if you had a brand new LC100 put a front spoiler on it that looked like a cheap nasty add on? I've seen 4wds with the 24" rims and low Profile tyres that look nice but this thing had to be seen to be believed. I didn't have time to take a photo of it, but believe me it looked bad.

By the way, I never said they were stupid. Get your facts right.

Robnicko, my fault I should have put my response as a follow up to the points made above not as a direct reply to your statement as somebody above made the point of the big 4x4's looking stupid with big wheels and low profile rubber.....So in context of the general flow of the thread my facts were right, in direct reply to your post no they were not right, but I thought common sense would allow most people to see the general point I was making, guess I was wrong on that too

Cheers Stefan
