G'day.
I have a CT with dual water tanks but I still run dry on the odd occasion. Any suggestions on a good system that tells me the water levels.
Thanks

Howard T, have you ever had dealings with camec.
I have and I recon they would rate as one of the worst I have had any to do with.
Promises promises but nothing ever happens.
I have already payed via credit card but only received half the order.Trying to the get the other half has been a night mare.Never return phone calls but promise they will.....

Jeff, try threatening them with noncompliance under the Commonwealth Trade Practises Act 1974. This is the consumers salvation...

I was in at Camec (Ingleburn NSW) today. They were quite good to deal with. Better than Kogarah (NSW).

They have 2 variations of water gauge (same AUSTRALIAN manufacturer) for about $65 with sender unit. One's oval, the other square. They have a 2 tank model, (which is what I was looking for) but appeared out of stock.

Hi John,

It's a pitty I don't live over that way, I could just about walk in and choke somebody right now.
But when I'm in SA and dealing with smootho sales persons from Sydney it's a bit hard.
I'm asking for the manager tomorrow(might work) my customer is kicking my ass and this mob is making us look like we have done something wrong.

Cheers Jeff M. (SA)

attach a clear hose to the outlet at the bottom with an open/close valve. make sure its long enough to reach the top of the tank.

with the hose held vertical open up the valve and water in the hose will rise to the water level in the tank.

I have a similar set up except no valve and the hose returns to the fill point teed off the breather hose. Works well and cheap as. Just have to look under the camper, wipe the dust and dirt off the hose and we have a rough level

I'm nervous about the hose changing direction after a bump or two, and then draining the tank while I'm not looking.

Hi Jeff

I have had good service from them. I have set up my CT (Trackabout) with their products even to the extent of exchanging them because I stuffed up.
Cheers

Thanks Batboy & Lyds.
Looks like a simple and effective solution without going all electronic etc. Applying the KISS rule.
Cheers

Supercheap also have a system sitting on the shelf. Not sure about suitability for 2 tanks or price. (Wasn't something I needed so din't look that closly, It was the plastic "caravan water tank" sitting on the shelf that made me notice them)

Fred,
when you have two tanks how is the pipwork set up, for filling and pumping out.
I assume that the two tanks are just joined together by a pipe?

Paul
(who has one tank but may fit a second)
