Hi all ,
I want to put a cubby house on top of my car - the type that is hinged at the front , and lifts up from the back . I don't need much room as there is only going to be me in it .
I have found one called an Autohome Columbus which has a fibreglass shell , but I am sure that there is other brands I should be checking out .
Can you let me know , if there areother brands available .
Thanks ,
Willie

Willie
When yer passing by next week I will show you how I have made a fold up bed inside the truck. Works a treat when on single mens business.
If you are hell bent on a rooftop tent then there is a plethora of makes such as Howling Moon, Shippshape, Hannibal, Open Sky etc etc. Just Google it.
Cheers

Willem ,
I don't think those people make the hardtop hinging ones . I will have a look though .
Yes , I will be interested to see your new design . If it can fit you in , you must indeed come up with a radical new design concept !
I just have to ask the
young fella if I have time to stay for lunch or if he wants to take off as early as possible . It might only be a cuppa - I will let you know .
Thanks ,
Willie .

Acca Dacca ,
Thanks , I checked out all Willems suggestions and I found it . Looks good and I will ring up the dealer and go and have a peak if they have one in stock .
They seem to have only one guy in NSW selling them , so it will be full retail .
Cheers ,
Willie .

Phil ,
It weighs 300 kg - can you believe that ? The Hanibal model weighs 83 kg . Also it only has access from the sides .
I like the Hanibal because you can access it from the rear . I don't use a ladder , I go rear bar , spare wheel then roofrack , so I need to get in the back .
Thanks for giving me the info though ,
Willie .

That is incorrect about the weight . 300 kg is the max weight for the bodies . I t is only 50 kg .

From the Hannibal website I found that NSW only had one re-seller - TJM at
Kings Park in Western
Sydney .
I was keen to look at one and buy it . I rang just to check they had stock .
TJM "No mate , none in stock"
Me "That's bloody good - your their only NSW re-seller and you have no stock"
TJM PREGNANT PAUSE "
Well we sold our only one on Wednesday . We can't keep a lot of stock , because their so bulky"
Me "
Well I'll come out and look at the quality of the other ones"
TJM "
Well actually , we have nothing here at this moment"
Me "Sell them all last Wednesday did you - must have been a big day for rooftop tents". Your pathetic , thanks for your time" CLUNK .
No wonder TJM get their butts wiped by ARB .
