Is there a way to download Google Earth without downloading all the other crap that comes with it??? I particularly do not want Norton products.

Thanks but that does not anwer my question.
Every time I want to download Google Earth I have to accept Mozilla, Google taskbar, Norton crap, etc etc.

Willem
download it from the link below
earth.google.com/download-earth.html
version 4 came out last month. the nav tool is much less obtrusive.
its straight from google itself. why would they bundle it with Nortons - Google have their own antivirus software. ive only seen clean installations of google earth.
good luck

Willem,
you can always geotag a current pic of your house - using picasa or panoramio!

Hi kingswoodwagon,
I have tried all the sites you mention before picasa or panoramio etc and tried again tonight, as far as I still see they use the old Sat pictures off of Google Earth which are years old. Also they don't have all area's covered. Try finding the
Berri Bridge (south australia) using panoramio for example.

www.gpsvisualizer.com/index.html
you can convert you're plot files to Google earth and load the onto the earth to see where you have traveled.

Hi Richard
Yep I have downloaded it but some images are out of date and some areas are not visualised.
Anyway thanks for the link. Will play with that tomorrow maybe. Right now I am bushed and am turning in for the night.
Cheers

Oziexplorer also allows you to export your plots to a Google .kml file.

Agree,
I find maps.google.com or maps.google.com.au are much quicker to access than Google earth and I like the ability to change the display from Maps to Satelite to hybrid. The search facility is very good too, especially on the .au site.

When you download anything like Google Earth, or other, make sure you don't click yes with every prompt during the install process. Tucked away is the ability to Üntick" all the crap they try and force feed you which also slows your PC down.

Totally agree re maps.google,
Easy, fast and unbelievable search accuravey, no matter how little info you give it (within reason).
Anyone with a laptop that's afew years old (like myself) will find earth won't run on their puter, no issues at all with maps.google though.
