I just know i'm in trouble with this post, But to-day i pulled up at a
intersection and a lady was beside me in a pajero, when all was clear we took off and she was a car lenght in front before i hit second gear!!!!! , OK! the landys , no speed weapon, but its not to bad either up to about 80ks hr. I hadno hope of keeping up with this bird, so is the pedal to the metal?, or are these newer 4bys so easy to drive that us so called male experts with their macho machines being challenged?, in their domain? :)))))).
Cheers Axle.

The fact that you were trying, or wanted to try seems to indicate you may be "birds of a feather"!!

Maybe you gave her a look that said 'i can beat you lady'. Maybe she just has more money than brains.
Years ago we had a Falcon family wagon - when it was fairly new, it could beat most from traffic lights, but i didn't care - but just occasionally when the fellow next to us was revving and giving the I'm better than you looks, the children would egg me on to show off. Must have looked like a falcon load of little blackfellas - we just loved the look on the smarty's face when we left him behind.

Axle
Just couldn't help myself.
However I would like to point out that the 05 CRD JEEP that is our everyday driver is like that Pajero and some without even trying.
My SWMBO drives like Confuscious' lady without pants, without even trying. Frightens the B-J****s out of me.
All the new breed of electronic managed 4WD powerhouses developed for European use are like that these days. Especially the diesels.

Oh! I should have known you are a Landy owner.....lol
Did you think the Landy would be able to pull a skin off a rice pudding? Not likely...hahahaha
SWMBO drives like that too and when in the passenger
seat I have to remind her of the speed signs along the road which she did'nt see. Somehow she has never been nabbed by the Blue Light Taxi. Her runabout(a toy 4by) has 50 more GG's than my old diesel plodder and she can reach up to 160kmh in it without any effort.
Swallow your pride and let it ride, me lad........:-D
Cheers

Be fair . She was probably rushing
home to
cook husband a tasty meal , or deglazing his cylinders , or racing to the grog
shop because he has run out of beer , or putting his bets on before the race starts , or all of the above .

Yet another perfect opportunity for the Press to get hold of to use in their campaign against 4wd's. Unbelievable - yet some people still wonder why 4wd's get bagged!!

To be fair, it is more usual to have your water cut off at roundabouts by small four cylinder cars being driven at the limit. Many think they are obliged to speed up to take right of way.
Fourbies are maligned unfairly, it is the small car with the aggressive driver you have to look out for. Too much power and too little judgement.

Must say Ive been doing a bit that myself lately with the new prado. When I had the lux it was always left lane stick behind the trucks so they break the wind ahead of me.A few times now it has been oops lights are red no one on the inside lane change lanes first at the lights, green plant it change back over cause my lane is about to run out and keep the foot into it. But have settled down a bit now Ive had my 2 weeks of " Yep the prado goes when I need it to". Back to driving miss daisy although the wife still likes to drive it like she did the commodore but when it comes time to filling it she realizes how economical her new toyota is so hands it back to me. She would never drive the hilux cause she hated manual but I have woken up to go to work and find the prado gone and left me with hers. But the car she misses the most is the VS statesman V8 we had, lowered, big exhaust etc she loved that car and still loves the sound when she hears one, she sounds like a big westy. (And I can say that cause we live in the west). I think the worst these days are the
young woman with there hotted up little cars, drive like ratbags and they reckon the
young blokes are bad. Regards Steve M

My wife is the same. She doesn't pay for the fuel either.
Want to get anywhere quicker, she drives.
Well, unless I go into 'rally mode', but she doesn't like being passenger when I start sliding the car around. :o)

Alice Springs ,
Didnt even think about no speed limit ,
My Mrs ended up driving it faster than me .
It was only 5km/h but noone is letting me forget it.
