STREWTH!!!!! Was camped down in the SE area of Dwellingup and this morning is started getting a bit dark and then the temp suddenly dropped. Pull finger! - time to go. We were down a 100m of very steep rutted track and if we left it even a bit later we'd still be there now and for days to come. No way of getting out without a winch.

Naturally commonsense prevailed so we did the only safe thing and promptly went straight to the nearest pub for a counter lunch. On the trip back down to the coastal plains we were down to 50m max visibility and the scarp was in full, thick cloud. That rain was HEAVY. Torrents of muddy water and sticks and stuff flowing across the roads.

On channel 40 there was plenty of swearing going on as truckies were having problems with car drivers freaking out and just stopping in the middle of the road.

Hi All,
Weren't all the Easter campers lucky. Usually starts to p#ss down on the Sunday night and continues on to midday Monday. Perfect for packing up tents and such like.

It has been drizzling almost constantly here (WA South Coast) all day with some heavy showers in between.

Not sorry to see the rain, we sure need it everywhere.

You are absolutely correct. I have never known an Easter in the SW when I have gone camping when that hasn't happened.

There are some immutable laws in the Universe,

-it always rains at Easter, and it did for us

- we were at Wave Rock (at Easter) and got saturated as we climbed the Humps at Mulkas Cave- not enough rain to even wet the ground though.

Still raining in Perth now 20:25 and hope it continues.

Every week I throw $500 worth of hay onto the ground to keep my cows alive at Bindoon. Did so today hoping the rain will be a proper start to the season, otherwise I buy the cows each year with hay, an get $1.25kg when I sell their calves, but you pay between $10-$30kg in the Supermarket for the same meat.

Off to Broome and the West Kimberly's next week for 3 weeks to visit son (pilot in Broome) maybe the rain will pay for the fuel.

Go-N-Grey - it looks like you'll have got a fair bit at Bindoon too - reasonable showers down in the south west, but not near as much as Perth and a bit north east.

I am very envious.
Good luck to you all.

We have had 10mm in the last two months in what is usually our "wet" season. We have had 70mm all year. Normally in January we get that in a week.

I know you guys need it but pleeeease send some over to the non-coastal eastern cities.

I know it will rain again...... sometime........hopefully????????

Cheers (or tears) Cam

Morning Doug

Just after daylight here in Tamworth - Monday morning. I am planning to work outside today but as I left home to go to the office - this strange stuff (clear and tasteless) starting falling from the sky. No idea what it might be but know I have not seen it before (or if I have the Oldtimers has helped me forget LOL) Unfortunately it is just a passing shower with no substance. "It will rain one of these days" - glad somewhere is getting wet anyway.

Cheers

Safe travels Doug,

Poor old Keepit Dam is at about 3% at the moment, Splitrock ( a new puddle finished in mid 80's north of Manilla) is the same and Chaffey (town water supply) is at 16% - we go onto level 5 restrictions at 15%.

Cheers
