I suggest you contact
Birdsville a few days before you venture over there to get an update...

I spoke to the
ranger at
birdsville regarding Eyre ck. closure The road IS OPEN with detours in place. He also advises caution and a minimum of 2 vehicles as the area is still quite boggy
Both
Warburton crossing [about 2 mts of water] and
Walkers crossing are CLOSED to all traffic
Hope this info is of some use as we have had acouple of enq. and the Mt. Dare website shows the QAAline as still being closed

Yes makes you wonder why they dont update there site every few days in peak season i wonder how may people are doing a trip like i am starting Anzac day and are lloking on here wondering why one website tell you a road is closed and one tells you its open it does make you wonder and its not as if it takes a long time to do it i posted this tonite
I rang the rangers at
Birdsville today they tell me Eyre creek is rising where you cross it via the bypass but there is nothing to worry about the water is about a 1 foot deep 300mm or so and has a rocky bottom and is about 15 foot across say 5mtrs and he also tells me the
Cordillo Downs road is open but has lots of wash out and is very rough in
places

Glenn, and Signman,
Ive always found the official sites to be pretty accurate and up-to-date. The private sites such as Mt Dare are dependant of someone getting around to changing their website.
The Desert Parks Bulletin is updated whenever there is a change - that may be often or not much at all. The Northern SA Roads report is updated daily. There are phone numbers for both, so you can contact them when away.
