I have a Leatherman Wave
the model (6-7 yrs old) I have uses Torx fittings to hold it all together...but one problem......

The standard Torx is a six (6) lobe fitting...the ones on my wave are five (5)

have been searching hi n low for these sockets...no one in adelaide new anything about them...(a lot of useless twits sometimes they are)...but by all acounts they are the fittings now being used in automotive these days....

priced one (one bit that is) the other day......i died...$45.00...now thats a rip off.

Just picked up a set (9 piece) from USA (Drive Werks.com) for $35.00 plus freight of ones choice....I have deep pockets and short arms so I opted for land freight.

Incidently a collegue has a wave and it has 6 lobe torx ..later model than mine

Mine is the same as yours by the sounds of it, i had the socket attachment for mine but it was stolen while the car was being serviced and after looking around with no luck i gave up.

Interesting about the differant torx though, had no idea they were any changes, seeing as they don't make the Wave anymore.

I'll check out the Drive works too.

Good Oh Nudie!

Just checked my Wave and it is also a 5 lobe jobbie. (20 Year Anniversary model)

So, also having short arms and deep pockets, I now know who to contract if I need the use of the Torx tool:-)))

Must have something to do with the Scots heritage!
