Has anyone seen or is currently using one of these bypass filtering systems...I seem to remember another style that used a
toilet roll (I think it was called franz or something like that).
Are they any good or even worth the time, trouble and/or money.
I change my oil every 5000 k's and the filter every 10000 k's but it still gets flaming dirty.
So what do you think guys......regards Phil

Try using CEM at oil change time. I do and I can assure you it works as claimed. Look in archives for details.

Just checked out their webb site, pretty impressive you would think.
also looked at other threads in archives and it's pretty mixed....I guess there is no amount of stuff out there that you can put into your beast that supposed to be magic.
I remember on an aussie comedy show they did a skit on this very thing and they had a product that was called" totally stuffed" that would even fix a burnt out wreck and make it run smooth...new tyres and all.

Believe me, it works. It won't make your tyres like new or polish the paint but you won't believe the crud that comes out of the engine. After using it the oil stays cleanish for a while and does get black by next change but much less black. I have also used it in a petrol engine with good, but less impressive results.

Philip
I've been using Frantz Bypass filters for over thirty years with very impessive results.
Longer oil changes (about double to triple normal- backed up by oil analysis) and very clean diesel engine.
I absolutely swear by them.

Flash.....do they still take
toilet rolls as a filter insert or do you have to buy them off frantz. How much do they cost and how often do you change them out. Phil

I'll reply for flash- he's away on hols I believe.
They still take
toilet rolls in the Frantz- IF you can get the right size- very difficult these days as most have the bigger centre.
However you can also buy specially made ones from various people including the local Frantz agent I believe and others such as a mob at Brendale called airfliter sales or something like that. (That's where I get
mine)
I change my
toilet roll "element" every couple of thousand kays- five minute job when you are used to it.
Cost- dunno as it's a bloody long time since I bought one (I have four, two on oil on my Patrol, one on diesel fuel, and one on my wife's car.
But you can order them directly from the US of A. Search "Frantz" and you'll get their US website.
Cheers
