Hi all,
Can anyone recommend any "Dog Friendly'"Caravan Parks along the coast from
Sydney to
Rockhampton.
Ive got the dog book 'Holidaying with Pets' and there looks like there are plenty there - but would love some recommendations.
Thankyou in advance
Swampy

Hi Swampy,
Don't know how far you travel each day but a favourite of our just short of Port MacQuaries is
Bonny Hills. The
views from the caravan sites is brilliant. Another goodie is Sounth West Rocks but some of the best attractions nearby _ Trial Bay Jail are within a National Park.
We live at
Ballina.... All of
Ballina are NON dog friendly except across the River at South
Ballina which is 6 km from town including a $3.30 each trip ferry ride.
We like Mt Warning caravan park.. Not on the coast - just out of Murwillumbah but a great park right under the shadow of Mt Warning.
The is one dog friendly on the
Gold Coast very close to the theme parks. I will leave advice for up there for the Queensland crew

Not a caravan park but a great family (pet friendly) place to stay is
Inskip Point. It is run by the
ranger's staion at
Rainbow Beach $4.50 per night per person and right at the point where the barge goes to Fraser Is from the mainland. Can be accessed by 2wd but the best camps you will need 4wd. I can get the caravan into many sites right on the dunes before
the beach. No power No showers but if this doesn't bother you, I would say go for it.
Well worth the look also is
Calliope River rest area. About an hr sth of
Rockhampton. Do a place search on this website and there is photo's and directions to get there. Again no power or no shower but a lovely spot suitable for dogs and family stays of up to 48hrs.
Safe travels.
Regards, Trevor.

We stayed at the
Gold Coast Holiday Park near the theme parks - the amenities are spotlessly clean and modern, but the sites fairly average. Its fine just not a park with much "feel" about it if you know what I mean.
One of the few pet parks in
Brisbane we found, and stayed at, was the Arizona Pines at Kallangar - probably the worst park we've stayed at - very run down and old, although amenties very clean and incredibly ornate - 70s style with roman columns. The rules are incredible - signs in Men's amenties had a long list of son'ts including "No spitting/blowing noses in basins or showers and drug testing"!!
The Solitary Islands park at
Wooli was lovely with new amenities block - would stay there again.
